Area Guide - Casares

Casares is a picture postcard white village with a population of just three thousand white cubed town houses, piled precariously high and just nudging the battlements of an Arab castle, it is hard to believe that this enchanting, typical pueblo is only nine miles from the hustle and bustle of the coast and somehow succeeded in avoiding the coach tour circuit.

There is plenty of parking on the outskirts of the village, but be ready to climb the narrow streets that weave through the central plaza with its small bars and central fountain.

On a clear day, you will be able to see the African Coast with the Rock of Gibraltar in the foreground.

The Casares road, leading from the coast road (N340), is scattered with golf developments and new apartments with an Andalucian feel. Some of these developments are walking distance to the beach and only a short drive from Manilva and Puerto Duquesa, with its beautiful tranquil Marina and amenities.

Puerto Banus and Marbella to the East and Sotogrande to the West are approximately 20 minutes away and offer a jet set lifestyle.
